What is Prasada?
Prasada is a new and refreshing master-planned development where working, shopping
and entertaining will blend seamlessly in the community of Surprise. More than 1,200
acres will be dedicated to neighborhood and power centers, hospital and medical
campus, an autoplex and other complementary retail and commercial uses.

Why is this called Prasada?
A unique relationship between Suburban Land Reserve, Westcor, WDP Partners and RED
Development, Prasada presents a unique opportunity for a master-planned development
to be a unified collaboration from the start, beginning with the name and vision.
To do this, the developers brought together teams representing all aspects of the
project to consider all of the factors at play - from the needs of area residents
to the city's vision of the future.
The Prasada name is derived from the Sanskrit word meaning "grace" or "peace." The
vision is to create a place where serenity is a way of life, and this principle
serves as a guide for all elements of the community's design - from architecture
and landscaping to amenities and activities. Prasada will create a sanctuary for
the senses and be a dynamic community that provides renewal for residents and stakeholders
alike. Using water's characteristics as a guide, Prasada's community plan will encourage
movement and activity with its trails and open spaces, while various design elements,
such as architecture and streetscapes, will create an atmosphere of serenity and
refreshment.

Can you tell me about the type of stores I can expect at Prasada?
West Valley residents have shared with us that they want a varied mix of shops that
will offer something for everybody including everyday necessities and items
for special events. With a power center and regional shopping center, you can expect
to find a diverse range of shopping and dining offerings that appeal to all age
ranges from young families to active adults in the form of large-format
retailers, department stores, specialty boutiques, restaurants and cafes, entertainment
venues and more. Back to Top
When will Prasada open?
We take a market-driven approach and want to make sure the right mix of stores and
restaurants open at the correct time to serve current and future residents. Prasada
will be developed and opened in phases. The first dealership at the 303AutoShow
Sands Chevrolet opened in Fall 2008. Based on market research and
feedback from retailers, the phased openings will continue with the power centers
in Fall 2012. We have not yet announced timing for the regional mall or other commercial
developments at Prasada. Back to Top
I've heard that Prasada will be like the Mall of America. Is
that true?
No. While the acreage of the project is considerably larger than regional mall sites,
this development will include a mixed-use regional shopping destination designed
to serve the needs of the West Valley. The typical size of a regional center in
Arizona is 1.3 million square feet; the Mall of America is 4.2 million square feet
and serves a much larger demographic market. Back to Top
